How to Reset the Oil Status Indicator in a Jeep Cherokee?

You can reset your oil life indicator easily with these steps:

  1. Ensure your vehicle is in park (P).
  2. Press the start button without starting the engine.
  3. Press the accelerator three times within 10 seconds.
  4. Press the start button again to turn off the power.

  1. Ensure the vehicle is in park (gear position P).
  2. Without pressing the brake, press the start/stop button to power on the electronics. Do not start the engine.
  3. Use the wheel controls to go to “Oil Life” in the “Vehicle Info” menu.
  4. Press and hold the OK button until the oil light percentage changes to 100%.
  5. Press the start/stop button again to turn off the vehicle’s electronics.
